a flower growing and blessing apprenticeship

Do you love flowers? Do you notice you, yourself, are a flower?

We will learn:
~How to grow ceremonial flowers ~Flower-centered landscaping ~Medicine making with flowers: hydrosols, elixirs & essences ~Flower crafts: crowns, garlands and natural dyeing ~The art of flower blessings Together, in a leisurely and pleasurable way, we will plant and tend the flower gardens at SunSong and learn about caring for the different kinds of flowers. We will make altars with flowers. We will meditate with the energy of blossoming. We will sing songs about flowers. We will dance in the garden with flowers. We’ll throw flowers in the air in celebration of life.

In the garden at SunSong Community, we grow many varieties of flowers:
roses, calendula, iris, lily, hollyhock, brugmansia, zinnias, sweet william, lavendar, gladiola, salvia, passionflower, asters, tithonia, sunflowers, marigolds, chrysanthemums, azaleas, quince, peonies, echinacea, sochan and so many more.
Together, on the flowering path, we will experience:
the planting, tending, harvesting and uses of the flowering plants.
We will get to know their medicine, admire their beauty and sing their songs.

Maayan Chelsea
facilitator for The Flowering Path Maayan is a mother, Earth steward, Flower worshipper and belly feeder. She has spent the last decade of her life dedicated to feeding the people in nourishing ways. She lives in community at SunSong where she collaboratively tends an abundant garden, sings to the Flowers and hugs the Grandmother Trees. She values peaceful communication, rites of passage and initiation, song sharing and spiritual reciprocity. Full of aliveness and connected to her emotions, Maayan embodies and inspires celebration of the life’s miracles while holding space for the grief that comes with honoring the tragedies of the state of humanity & Planet Earth. She loves to grow flowers, make medicine and crafts with the blossoms and give flower blessings to trees & people. |

We have a limited number of partial work trade positions & scholarships for the global majority**. Please let us know in your application if you are interested.
